Frequently Asked Questions

What PLC platforms does AMS Engineering Group work with?

We program and support Rockwell Automation (Allen-Bradley) ControlLogix and CompactLogix, Siemens S7-1200 and S7-1500 via TIA Portal, Beckhoff TwinCAT 3, and GE/Emerson PACSystems. We are not locked to a single vendor and will recommend the right platform for your application.

Do you handle both new installations and existing system upgrades?

Yes. We work on greenfield projects from design through commissioning, and we also retrofit and modernize existing control systems, including migrations from obsolete hardware like PLC5, SLC-500, and legacy HMI platforms.

What industries do you serve?

Our primary markets are pharmaceutical and life sciences, food and beverage processing, water and wastewater treatment, and general manufacturing. We have experience with FDA-regulated environments, including 21 CFR Part 11 considerations for SCADA historian and audit trail requirements.

What geographic area does AMS Engineering serve?

We are based in Marshfield, Massachusetts and serve clients throughout New England, including Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Maine. We are available for on-site work across the region.

Can you help with control panel design and fabrication?

Yes. We provide full control panel engineering services including AutoCAD Electrical schematics and UL 508A-compliant panel design. We work with trusted fabrication partners to deliver panels built to your specification.
